Who is this class for?

  • Mothers (both new and further into their postpartum journey)

  • Women looking to rehab pelvic floor dysfunction, core and birth injury

  • Women seeking to deepen their connection, strength and understanding of their pelvic floor and core 

In this class I borrow from yogic wisdom, pilates techniques and functional training to rebuild core/pelvic floor strength and elasticity after birth and injury. This class will help you build deep foundations of functional strength and stability for real life. You will also learn pranayama (breathwork) and meditation techniques that promote core/pelvic floor healing. These techniques bring strength and stamina to your nervous system helping you ground in daily life and motherhood. 

Yoga is an ancient system of self help that provides the perfect framework and toolbox to centre yourself as you heal from birth and come home into this new body. Whether you're 6 weeks postpartum or 16 years. It's never too late to come to this work. 

Across many ancient systems of thinking the pelvic floor and core are seen as our energetic foundations. In yoga we think of Mūla Bandha as a root connection and we see to that in Traditional Chinese Medicine the pelvic floor is viewed very much as an energetic centre, where vital life force lives and stability is found. 

When we care for this central space of our body, the value and benefits for our functional health and spiritual wellbeing spiral outwards and can touch all aspects of our lives. 

 

In most sessions I will integrate small elements of sound, somatic and embodied movement, poetry and journaling. This is a space for you to come home to yourself. To connect, rest, warm and restore the body and spirit. 

 

Classes are £15 in person every Wednesday 09:00-10:00.
